Quick Change Scam *Update*



 


The Marshalltown Police Department would like to notify local businesses and the general public that we have received two complaints of a possible "Quick Change Scam" that occurred within the City of Marshalltown on December 3rd and December 8th at two area businesses.

A description of the suspect has been obtained and is given as a black male suspect wearing a black jacket and eye glasses. The suspect is approximately 6'0" to 6'2" tall, approximately 180-200 lbs and approximately 30-40 years of age. The suspect approached a cashier to make a purchase and then began asking to "trade" bills, typically either $50.00 or $100.00 bills, at which time the suspect was able to gain monitarily before leaving the business.  An undisclosed amount of cash was reportedly taken by the suspect.  Both cases are currently under investigation.
