Heralded by the New York Times as “the most celebrated new bluegrass act of the last few years,” Dailey & Vincent are bringing their “Bluegrass Christmas” to Ames. This ensemble has won 10 awards from the International Bluegrass Music Association, including Entertainer of the Year for two years running.
Headed by Jamie Dailey (formerly of Doyle Lawson’s Quicksilver) and Darrin Vincent (formerly of Ricky Skaggs’s Kentucky Thunder), the group earned recognition for their 2008 debut album, Dailey & Vincent, after taking home seven awards that year at the International Bluegrass Music Awards show, including Album of the Year. In 2009, their second album, Brothers from Different Mothers, was also nominated for Album of the Year.
The Dailey & Vincent ensemble features Jamie Dailey (guitar, bass, lead and harmony vocals), Darrin Vincent (mandolin, bass, guitar, lead and harmony vocals), Christian Davis (bass vocals, guitar), Jessie Baker (banjo) and Jeff Parker (mandolin, guitar and harmony vocals).
The ensemble, headed by the dynamic duo, has climbed to success through award-winning albums and busy tour schedules, which have introduced them to wildly appreciative audiences. Through this true musical partnership, Dailey & Vincent have not only delighted audiences with their enthusiastic live performances, but they have also “pushed the envelope” for bluegrass music. The show promises to celebrate an irresistible “Bluegrass Christmas” with the audience.
