Collision kills 2 on north side of Des Moines

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Authorities have identified the two drivers killed in a collision on the north side of Des Moines.

The Iowa State Patrol says they were 25-year-old Brandon Anderson, of Des Moines, and 53-year-old Kevin O'Sullivan, of Elizabeth, Ill. They were pronounced dead at the scene on Interstate 80/35. The patrol says the crash occurred just before 1 a.m. Tuesday.

Accident investigators suspect Anderson had been drinking before he entered the interstate at the Merle Hay Road ramps and headed east in the wrong lanes until the collision occurred near Northwest Morningstar Drive.
