SHELBY, Iowa (AP) — A truck hauling up to 160 hogs rolled onto its side along Interstate 80 in western Iowa after being pulled over by a state officer.
The truck and trailer rolled into a ditch Sunday night near Shelby, which is about 30 miles northeast of Council Bluffs.
An Iowa Department of Transportation enforcement officer pulled over the truck, and it tipped over into the ditch while the driver was trying to stop.
A state patrol dispatcher says up to 160 hogs were in the trailer, driven by 45-year-old Michael Melvin Wilken, of Westside.
It wasn't clear what happened to the hogs.
Wilken refused medical treatment at the accident scene.
