AMES, Iowa (AP) — Iowa State coach Fred Hoiberg has promoted Charlie Henry to assistant coach, replacing Doc Sadler.

Henry spent the past two seasons with the Cyclones as a graduate assistant and as the director of player development.

Henry fills the void left when Sadler took over as the head coach at Southern Mississippi in April.

Henry previously worked as a graduate manager at Utah and as a video coordinator with the Indiana Pacers.

Hoiberg says Henry is among the best young basketball minds he's ever met.
