GLADBROOK, Iowa (AP) - Authorities say a woman has been killed and a man injured following a house explosion in central Iowa.

Tama County Sheriff Dennis Kucera says a body was recovered Thursday from inside the house in rural Gladbrook, located several miles northeast of Marshalltown.

Ron Humphrey with the State Fire Marshal's Office says the woman lived in the home. The man was a repairman. Investigators believe he was fixing a furnace before the explosion.

The man has been transported to an Iowa City hospital. His condition is not available.

Authorities have not released more information about the Thursday morning explosion. The State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause.
