Michigan State and Iowa State won top-10 matchups on Tuesday.

~ Keith Appling drained a tiebreaking 3-pointer with 29 seconds left in overtime to lead the fifth-ranked Spartans to a 72-68 victory over No. 3 Ohio State. Appling finished with 20 points, seven assists and six rebounds as Michigan State improved to 14-1 despite blowing a 17-point lead in the second half.
 
     DeAndre Kane had a season-high 30 points to go with nine assists, eight rebounds and five steals as the ninth-ranked Cyclones hammered No. 7 Baylor 87-72. Melvin Ejim (EH'-jim) added 16 points for Iowa State, which outscored Baylor 47-34 in the second half and set a school record with its 14th straight win.
