Police, Sheriff, and EMS personal were called out to Highland Acres Road on Friday night, November 29th, after two passersby found a woman lying unconscious on the side of the road. She was found lying beind her vehicles, an older model Dodge Pickup, on the shoulder of the road near the 2300 mile area of Highland Acres Road.
According to a police report from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, the victim had reported seeing a vehicle stranded in a portion of the road. Thinking that the passengers could use a hand, the victim exited her vehicle. However, when she went to help, the male suspect then left his vehicle and assaulted the victim.
While knocked unconscious, the suspects then rummaged through the victims truck. They went through her belonging, including merchandise that she had purchased that day while shopping in Marshalltown.
In the report it stated, the male suspect is described as being Hispanic or darker skinned, and about 30 years of age. He had dark hair and mustache, medium height and build, and was wearing a dark baseball cap and jacket.
Another suspect, a female, was described as being white, also in her 30’s, with dark hair, a heavy build and medium height.
The only description of the vehicle was it was either a dark blue or a black car, in good shape. There were no other distinguishing features given.
The victim was transported to the Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center for treatment. She was released later that evening.
