Marshalltown Police Detective Recognized

by KIX101.1 /1230 KFJB News Department posted Jan 28 2014 11:43AM
With the help of Marshalltown Police Chief Mike Tupper, the City of Marshalltown recognized Detective Randy Kessler for 25-years of service.

“Randy’s one of our shining stars,” Tupper says.

“The thing I really enjoy about working with Randy is he’s a very dedicated, hard-working professional.”

Chief Tupper says Det. Kessler is an asset to the department.

“He’s been a detective for several years now and he works a lot of our high profiles cases.”

According to Tupper there is a reason why Det. Kessler is such a trusted individual in the department.

“Randy is one of the best cops that we have and he does a great job.”

However, there is one thing that Chief Tupper appreciates the most about Det. Kessler: his desire to have an open line of communication.

“He’s always willing to tell me what he really thinks,” says Tupper,” and some people aren’t really willing to do that.”

“Randy will come into my office, shut the door, and we will really have some great conversations, and some positive conversations.”

As Chief Tupper points out, these conversations aid in multiple aspects.

“It helps me be a better police chief and it helps all of us as department grow. So, I really appreciate Randy and all of his years of service.”

Along with working for the Marshalltown Police Department, Det. Kessler also works for the state’s Computer Crimes task force.
