The Marshalltown Chamber of Commerce “Total Resource Campaign” is classified as a success according to chamber executive director Lynn Olberding.
“We are very excited to announce that we exceeded our goal,” Olberding said, “We had 16 new members, our goal was 10.”
And with these new members, the Chamber also saw other new additions and support.
“A lot of great news events were introduced during the campaign, and huge supports for the business community for those events.”
She says after last year, the more than $140,000 raised was a thrilling.
“Unfortunately last year,” she said, “did not able to meet our goal, we ran a little short. So, we’re very excited to meet our goal this year.”
Olberding says the result of this campaign will help benefit many of the events that take place in the community.
That includes things like the scholastic banquet, educator appreciation events, the Chamburrr Scurry 5K run in January, and other events that help support and educate the community.
60 volunteers helped with the campaign and all recorded at least one “sale” to their name.
