MHS offers Tech Help at the Marshalltown Library

by KIX101.1/ 1230 KFJB News Department posted Oct 22 2013 1:37PM
If you are one of those people who despise technology but understand it’s the way of the future the Marshalltown Public Library may be able to help to ease the pain. With help from a club at the Marshalltown High School, any tech questions can be answered according to Katie Fink.

With help from the IT Adventures club at the high school, this is all possible. Fink says,"they needed to do some sort of community service," and that's when they contacted the library.

If you’ve moved on from the hard copy book to reading one on an E-Reader, and need help, Fink says this is the perfect time to ask questions. "What we provide is, basically, help with E-Readers," Fink said, "So, we thought that would be a great opportunity for us to provide more to our patrons."

And questions on technology aren’t just limited to the e-reader. As Fink explains, "People can come in an get help on their tablet, laptop, or smartphones. And they can talk to the kids about other computer issues as well."

The service will start on October 23rd and continue every Wednesday throughout the fall. You can call the library information desk at (641) 754-5738 ext. 4 to ask questions or come into the library café between 4:00 and 6:00 PM.
