Renovation on the historic Tall Corn Towers has been taking place for quite some time and according to Michelle Spohnheimer, Director of Housing and Community Development, says they’re ready to start taking applications for residents.
"They are having application intake times at the library," Spohnheimer says,"so people can come on by if they're interested either for the residential or commercial spaces."
There are plans to hold information sessions in November with people available to answer questions. "We've had inquiries in our office about when is it going to be open? How do I get in?," Sopohnheimer says. But she emphasizes that the best time to get those questions answered is at the information sessions that will be held at the public library.
Spohnheimer hopes after the meetings they have a quick turnaround, as their move in date is fast approaching. According to Spohnheimer, "We are looking to have everything ready to go so that we have occupancy starting the first of February."
The informational meetings with staffers working on the TallCorn projects will take place at the Marshalltown Public Library on November 5th
from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM and then again on November 6th
from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
