IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — The Iowa Board of Regents is expected to release a list of potential ways to cut costs that a consultant has identified at the state's three public universities.
The board says it will release a summary Wednesday of the findings of Deloitte Consulting's initial review of the University of Iowa, Iowa State University and the University of Northern Iowa.
The review cost $2.5 million, and the board voted last week to pay the New York-based firm an additional $1 million.
Regent Larry McKibben said last week the consultant had identified a list of 100 possible cost-saving opportunities that has been whittled down to about 15. He says the potential return on investment will be very significant.
Deloitte's consultants are expected to hold public meetings at the universities later this month.
