Iowa State (1-6, 0-4 Big 12) at Kansas State (3-4, 1-3); 2:30 p.m. (FS1)
Series record: Iowa State leads 49-43-4
Line: Kansas State by 16 1/2
WHAT'S AT STAKE
Kansas State can't realistically believe it's headed for a bowl game if it loses to the struggling Cyclones at home. Iowa State simply needs something to build on in a season gone terribly awry.
Kansas State's punt return team vs. Iowa State punter Kirby Van Der Kamp: The Wildcats are the best team in the country at returning punts, averaging nearly 22 yards an attempt. But Van Der Kamp is a potential All-Big 12 punter, with a punt longer than 55 yards in all but one game in 2013 and a knack for placing the ball inside the opponents 20-yard line.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Iowa State. QB Sam Richardson. He took a shot to the head and neck in last week's loss to Oklahoma State and might not be 100 percent.
Kansas State: WR Tyler Lockett. He leads the Wildcats with 39 catches for 586 yards and four TDs.
FACTS & FIGURES
Kansas State has won five straight and 7 out of 10 against Iowa State...The Cyclones have allowed 129 points in their last two games and are now 119th nationally in scoring defense. Iowa State had held each of its first four opponents under 31 points...The Wildcats will be playing their third straight home game, a rarity in Big 12 play.
