AMES, Iowa (AP) — A former laboratory manager at Iowa State University accused of faking test results has been indicted on charges of making false statements.

An indictment filed in federal court shows Dong Pyou Han has been charged with four felony counts of making false statements.

Han resigned from ISU in December after he admitted to faking research to make it appear an AIDS vaccine under development was working better than expected. Federal officials say millions in grant money had been given to the research team based on reports from Han's manipulations.

Han is scheduled to appear Tuesday at the federal courthouse in Des Moines. Court records do not list an attorney.
