DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Naomi Tutu, the daughter of retired South African Anglican Archbishop Desmond Tutu, will speak Friday morning at Drake University.
Naomi Tutu, who was born in South Africa and now lives in Nashville, will speak about "Our Shared Humanity" in a speech focused on the importance of civility, compassion and community.
The Rotary Club of Des Moines is among several groups hosting the event.
Besides South Africa, Naomi Tutu has lived in Lesotho, the United Kingdom and the United States.
She has held a number of positions, including a development consultant in West Africa and a program coordinator at the African Gender Institute at the University of Cape Town.
