A man serving up to 30 years in prison for robbing a Coralville western wear store at knifepoint in 2009 has convinced the Iowa Court of Appeals he deserves reconsideration of his sentence. Jose Murcia was 17 when he and another man forced two store workers to turn over money from the cash register. Murcia sought resentencing under recent court rulings requiring judges to reconsider sentences of juvenile defendants given mandatory minimum prison terms.
