The Albion City Council Monday night voted to table a vote about ousting Councilman Todd Kelley of the Volunteer Fire Department and EMT crew till December 1st after members of the Volunteer Fire Department had voted him off the Fire Department roster last week, the Council has final say about the matter.
At least one member of the Volunteer Fire Department after the meeting between Council and Kelley which was in closed session, and the vote which was back in open session, turned in his gear and apparently walked away from the job.
Suzie Wenner a Volunteer Firefighter and EMT says there were issues between Kelley and other members of the crew, she acted as a spokesperson for the other members of the squad and said they voted him off of the volunteer fire fighting and first responder roster last week.
Kelley said he had no comment on the matter.
Albion City officials said they hoped that relations between Kelley and other Volunteer Firefighters and EMT’s could improve and differences could be worked out.
A Marshall County Sheriff`s Deputy was asked to be present at the meeting.
