LE MARS, Iowa (AP) — An Akron man has been charged with first-degree murder after Plymouth County officials say he told them he caused the death of his mother.
Jonathon Neunaber was charged in a complaint filed Thursday by County Attorney Darin Raymond. Raymond says Neunaber admitted to causing the death of 80-year-old Esther Grace Neunaber. Her body was found July 9 at a home in Akron with the body of her 83-year-old husband, Donald.
Jonathon Neunaber, who is 44, has been held in jail as a material witness since July 10. He remains there on $100,000 bond.
Authorities haven't released further information on the death of Donald Neunaber.
Jonathon Neunaber's case wasn't listed in court records and it's not immediately clear whether he had an attorney.
