The term enmity was used multiple times last night during a discussion at the Marshalltown City Council regarding who pays for what when it comes to the 911 communications center in the new Marshalltown Police and Fire headquarters.

The definition of enmity mans ill will, which members of the Communications Commission said has been an underlying issue since last year when the Commission was created to oversee the 911 employees and when 911 took over ambulance calls from Unity Point Health Marshalltown. The Commission has submitted an agreement to pay the  City one dollar per year. The City is balking at that, proposing the Commission share in operating costs at the new building of approximately 25 thousand dollars.

After additional discussion, the City Council determined it needed to take a longer look at what might be in a new agreement between the City and the 911 commission.
