Damage to public art has the Ames Public Art Commission asking the public to keep an eye on the public displays after spending thousands of dollars to repair damage caused by vandals.

The Commission estimates it has cost roughly 16-thousand dollars over the last year or so to maintain sculptures in the community. It asks the public if you see vandalism taking place to call 911.
