A Huxley man is dead after a house fire yesterday morning.

Firefighters were called to the blaze around six a.m.  When they arrived two daughters has escaped, but they had to break through a window to rescue the wife and son. However, Brett Van Ersvelde died in the blaze.

The preliminary cause of the fire indicated it began in the kitchen.
