In case you were not aware, the Iowa High School Athletic Association is using the RPI, also known as Ratings Percentage Index, to rank teams for at large berths for the playoffs. It is basically based on the strength of schedule.
The first index was released this morning.
In four, Marshalltown is ranked fourth, as one of 7 teams undefeated after three games. Centennial is first, followed by Indianola, Bettendorf and then the Cats.
Bishop Heelan is rated number one in 3A, PCM in 2A, Woodward-Granger in 1A, Hudson in Class A and Northwood Kensett is atop the 8-man ratings.
