Hundred of Iowa homes were damaged or destroyed by flooding just this month.  The National Flood Insurance program has launched a campaign to make sure more people are insured against these floods.  Dave Maurstad of that agency said that 40 % of properties in the high risk areas are covered but we need to get more people covered.  Low to medium risk areas can cost up to $500 per year and high risk areas can be up to $2000.
