Two special elections were held for vacant City Council seats. One was close, one was not.

In Marshalltown, Gabe Isom edged Bob Unteidt 96 to 94 for the Ward 2 Councilor position. Jay Carolo was third with 90 votes. There is still one absentee ballot out. There were 393 total votes cast in this election.

In Eldora, Blake Jones bested two other candidates to fill the vacant City Council seat there. Blake garnered 216 votes, to Cindy John’s 188, with 47 for Jack Brekke. 451 total votes were cast in Eldora.
