An Iowa Senate Committee is discussing a bill that would help family caregivers to receive some training when their family or friends is released from a hospital or other facility to return home. Anthony Carroll with AARP Iowa says Oftentimes, caregivers aren’t getting any instructions.

As many as 317 thousand Iowans are caring for those who need that assistance, according to AARP Iowa.
