The Iowa State Patrol confirms there were 185 accidents statewide from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. yesterday. 7 people were killed.
In Poweshiek County, The State Patrol says 21-year old Josephina Buffington of Fairfax was killed in a 19 vehicle accident at the 190 mile marker near Brooklyn. A semi truck was unable to stop, hitting a vehicle on the inside median, causing a chain reaction.Some of the injured were taken to Grinnell Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The Story County Sheriff’s Office says one person died in a crash along an Iowa interstate near Ames yesterday. The crash, which happened along Interstate 35, involved as many as 70 vehicles.
