The annual Iowa Department of of Education’s school rankings report found not as many schools are receiving as high a mark as previously.

Marshalltown schools were roughly the same as a year ago, with some downward trending at some buildings. Lenihan, Rogers Elementary and the High school was rated as need improvement, while Woodbury Elementary, Anson, Miller and Fisher were ranked as priority.

East Marshall and West Marshall both received a combination of Acceptable and Commendable ratings;

BCLUW schools were acceptable across the board;

Grundy Center elementary and high school were deemed commendable, but the middle school was aid to need improvement;

Ames schools were generally rated as commendable commendable;

Gladbrook-Reinbeck high was ranked as commendable as was South Hardin Middle school.

South Tama schools were classified as needs improvement.
