The Iowa Department of Education’s yearly school rankings came out this past week.  The rankings show overall the states schools did not receive as many high marks as last year.

The performance was blamed on declining math and reading scores on state exams from last spring. Only 37% of the schools received the average or above rankings compared to 43% last year. The six rankings included: exceptional, high-performing, commendable, acceptable, needs improvement, and priority!
