The Marshalltown Fire Department rescued a man stranded on an island at Sand Lake Tuesday afternoon.

Apparently, the man’s kayak overturned and he was able to make his way to the shore of the island, where he spent about two hours.

According to the Fire Department, the kayak-er was uninjured, but was showing some symptoms of hypothermia.
