The major college hoops season opened for business Friday night;
Northern Iowa was unable to duplicate it’s upset magic versus North Carolina, falling to the Tar Heels 86 to 69.
Iowa’s men opened with a 95-62 romp past Chicago State, while the Hawkeye women rewarded coach Lisa Bluder with her 7,00th career win, 83 to 67 over Quinnipiac.
The Iowa State men opened with a 74-69 loss on the road at Missouri. The Cyclone women downed South Dakota 81 to 76.
In other women’s action, Drake bested Milwaukee 77 to 73, while UNI fell to IUPUI 54 to 48.
