The Marshalltown Chamber of Commerce held a City Candidates Forum at the Fisher Community Center in Marshalltown. Nine of the ten candidates in the races were there. There were calls for change at the event and also more citizen participation and input from young people in a time when there is disinterest in politics. There are contested races for Mayor, City Council First Ward and At Large City Council. You can vote early at the County Auditor`s office at the Marshall County Courthouse. Election Day is Tuesday November 7th. The Times Republican Newspaper will have candidates forums the nights of October 24th and 25th at DeJardin Hall on the Marshalltown Community College campus.
