The Marshalltown Fire Department got called to a gas leak and fire at Number 5 East Grant Street. Fire Chief David Rierson says fire was coming from an exterior wall from the home as crews arrived. They had to call for help. He says there was more fire in the basement. No one was hurt, it was a two story home. Some 20 thousand dollars in damage. Chief Rierson says the fire is blamed on an explosion and leak from a line. No one was home at the time.
