Day one of the Oktemberfest celebration will take place in Marshalltown late tomorrow afternoon in the downtown area of the county courthouse. The festivities will begin with the start of the carnival rides offered by Smith`s Amusements and also the opening of the food vendors as well. On Tuesday Marshall County workers were putting up up the counties Mobile Band Shell adjacent to the County Courthouse. Longtime Emcee Denny Grabenbauer of Marshalltown says the focus Thursday will be on kids activities including the crowning of Little Miss and Mister Oktemberfest and a kids fun run event on Main Street Marshalltown.
