The Marshalltown Area United Way kicked off its fall fundraising campaign with a luncheon at the Fisher Community Center at Marshalltown Wednesday, September 14. According to Director, Nancy Steveson the goal is $797,000, and the theme this year is “Be a Piece of The Puzzle”. The Co-Chairs of the campaign effort this fall are Kelli Thurston and Fauna Nord. The number of agencies benefiting from United Way dollars in the Marshalltown area totals 27 agencies. Last year 12,685 citizens were served by United Way Agencies. Steveson says the Marshalltown Area United Way has a couple of fundraising events planned, including Power of the Purse at the Elmwood Country Club on October 13th and a talent competition on November 4th at the Impala Ballroom.
