Mid Iowa Community action known as MICA for short held a candidates forum on the issues of poverty on the Iowa Valley Continuing Education Campus Tuesday night. Participants included State Representative candidate, Mark Smith, State Senate candidate, Steve Sodders and State Representative Candidate, Nathan Wrage. The candidates answered numerous questions during an hour long debate that was well attended and facilitated by MICA’s Arlene McAtee. Questions ranged from problems with managed care organizations and problems with Medicaid, to mental health services to the issue of summer learning loss and year-round school.
