The Iowa State Fair Parade will kick of the fair festivities this year as it gets underway tonight. The parade route goes west from the state capital grounds down Grand Avenue in Des Moines. The first day of the State Fair is tomorrow as the fair begins a ten day run. Marshall County Fair Queen Megan Pansegrau will represent our county in the parade. Weather conditions at parade time are expected to be sweltering as Iowa will be in the midst of a two day heat wave.
