Marshalltown fire crews were called to the Aldi grocery store on South Center Street on Thursday morning for a fire that was electrical in nature. Fire Chief, David Rierson said an Assistant Store Manager reported a freezer motor in the store was on fire and it created a lot of smoke. He says the fire was extinguished and the smoke was cleared out. The Chief reports some 70 to 75 thousand dollars in estimated damage. The store will likely be closed for a couple of days.
