The Iowa Veterans Home has a vision of improving the courtyard on campus to include a new entryway, an improved meditation garden, and a second resident quadrangle that would include a place to show outdoor movies in the style of a miniature drive-in theater. Iowa Veterans Home Commandant, Jodi Tymmeson, says the vision includes some 16 elements to a plan that would encompass a large area of campus. An architect was hired that drew up plans and provided artist’s renderings of the vision. She says they hope to get these renderings up on the Iowa Veterans Home website soon. She says they are hopeful of making the ideas a reality in the next few years.
