The City of Marshalltown Police and Fire Advisory Committee has suggested to the Marshalltown City Council that the old Econofoods site or the Handy Industries/Liberty Campus site be used as possible sites for the proposed police and fire station for the city. The suggestion came Tuesday morning and will be acted upon by Council at a future meeting. Through the course of time the committee and the architects Prochaska and Associates have whittled down the list of possibilities. The other stipulation is that both buildings would be placed at the same location. City officials hope to put the matter to a vote later in the year.
